Bigger Than Us directed by Aurélie Garnier

Bigger Than Us by Aurélie Garnier was a wonderful discovery at the Annecy Festival and we are fortunate enough to produce it today. This colouful and meaningful project moved us with its intelligent drama and clear-sighted message. We invite you to discover some images of this magnificient movie. An journey of initiation through the Greenlandic landscape that will leand you to discover the Inuit Godess Sedna.

After training at the New York Film Academy, Aurélie worked on many live action Short in different jobs, from directing to production, through video clip shooting. She is know production manager and has worked on the highly anticipated serie Arcane by Riot Games, Playmobil The Movie by Lino DiSalvo and Petit Vampire directed by Joann Sfar.

After an HND in photography, a year at the “Beaux-Arts” and training as a scriptwriter at the “École de la Cité”, she is currently working on her second animated feature film Layla et l’Île aux poissons, produced by the Studio Ozone. She also co-wrote the screenplay : Gemmy Brown : à la conquête du multivers, a feature film produced by the same studio.

“We are aware that changing habits is an exausting work, that those who tryed felt judged or made to feel guilty by those around them or that it would never be enough. We want to interverne here, to explain that we are able to learn and that each action counts and will be contagious. We hope to have a wider impact with this short film, which we consider to be our gesture. The state is divided, wanting to protect the environment without altering the economy. As citizens, we have to show what matters the most to us.”

“Bigger that Us is born with the desire to link my two passions, seabed protection and traditional animation. In January 2019, I have been volunteer in rescue center made for seals reahabilitation. Inspired by my colleagues whose job it is, I also wanted use my skills to participate to rescue marine fauna. The idea of this short animated film came to me when I read the story of the Godess Sedna in the book “Du Groenland au Pacifique” by Knud Rasmussen.“
