In the middle of the night, a drowsy petrol station attendant sees a driver pull into his petrol station. An attraction for the stranger immediately arises, but they do not exchange anything but a glance. She starts driving again and everything stops before it starts.
In three EPs and multiple collaborations, Dusty Goldstein has developed a very personal sound universe, carried by a soft, deep and melancholic voice. After Wonderland and Summer Slavin’ in 2015, Dusty Goldstein produced the singer RAN (When You Talk) and wrote for Coelho (Vanités), whom he accompanied on tour as support for Vald (Xeu Tour 2018). With a wealth of experience in rap and electronic production, he returns to composition, mixing hard beats, English folk and electronica textures. His new EP If You Will will be released in October 2020.
Sélim Atmane is a Short Director since 2013, he signed his third collab with Dusty Goldstein.
“The idea is to intertwine in the same setting the live performance of the song and a fictional scene that resonates directly with it.
The loneliness evoked by the song is superimposed on the unspoken emotions of the gas station attendant, the memory of the one who has left refers directly to the impossibility of the encounter here staged. Without being a direct image of the text, the melancholy of this short scene connects directly with the tone of Lil’ Man’s Lament.”
